Why do I need a poetry class to do what is in my heart?
Why do I need permission to write when the environment nurtures my art?
Why do I look for inspiration when I have it within?
Why did I travel the world to search for my gift to find laughter in my eyes?
Why did I return to you when all I needed was me?
Why did I proclaim possession of my soul when all I needed was to simply be.

Oh my goodness…read the first line and almost died! I wrote my girlfriend a poem asking the question “Why should I buy a valentines card when I’m a poet?” Very beautifully written. Thanks.
Hi KonciouSLea, I wrote it just this morning,… the words just came out of me.
And you’re very welcome!

Thanks!
Amaaaaaaazing poem sis!
Thank you brother poet!
Incredibly revealing and personal. I love how you ended the last question with a period; one of those subtle things that carries so much meaning. Craft and art don’t need to ‘collide.’ The natural talent that you have will drive the creative process. Craft will refine the art. Awesome poem, Malena!
Thank you, David! I wrote it spontaneously, just this morning. I guess it was waiting to come out of me for some time now. I’m now exhausted. I didn’t notice that I ended with a full stop, I guess the question has the answer… I wrote it from my heart.
Excellent.
Thank you, David Eric Cummins!
